The North Central District Health Department is offering no-fee food management certification classes for those who wish to be certified. Completing this 3 hr. course provides Idaho certification in food safety under the state’s Food Protection Program. The certification is good for 5 years. The classes are designed to satisfy one of the four requirements of the Idaho Food Code for a person in charge. Another available resource is an on-line food safety exam that can be accessed at foodsafety.idaho.gov. A person in charge must be present at the food establishment during all hours of food preparation and service.
