Idaho North Central District Celebrates Public Health Week
LEWISTON, IDAHO - While local public health works diligently year round to protect the community from health threats, many people are unaware of this resource and how it benefits their quality of life. To raise awareness of the value of Public Health, Idaho North Central District will celebrate Idaho Public Health Week, April 6-12.
“Everyday, each person in our community benefits from public health activities - from tracking down and stopping the spread of disease outbreaks to keeping restaurant food safe with education, inspections and enforcement programs, to linking people to needed health services”, said Carol Moehrle, Director. “Public Health is as necessary as police, fire and medical personnel to respond to emergencies and protect community health and safety”.
Idaho North Central District has served residents’ public health needs for over 30 years, offering affordable programs and services through its Lewiston, Grangeville, Kamiah, Moscow and Orofino offices. Idaho North Central District will use Public Health week to promote its motto, “Prevent. Promote. Protect” and the programs provided to carry out these principles.
Public Health is celebrated yearly in April at the local, state and national levels. Idaho North Central District coordinates with and encourages local partners to raise awareness in their community.
