Public Health - Idaho North Central District is working jointly with school districts to offer vaccine clinics in schools. At this time, H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine availability is still limited; however Public Health is working to vaccinate all school aged children. Public Health plans to initially vaccinate school children less than 10 years old, as this age group will require 2 doses of vaccine. Those children less than 10 years old who are vaccinated at this time will need to receive a second dose approximately 4 weeks later. Public Health anticipates having adequate supplies of vaccine for the entire school population at this time and will continue to vaccinate school children in all grades through December, returning to the grade schools for second doses and initial vaccinations of remaining students.
PLEASE NOTE: The nasal spray vaccine (VIS Statement) is the primary vaccine that will be given at these school clinics, as it is intended for use in healthy children. If your child has an underlying health condition and cannot receive this vaccine, there is a limited number of injectable vaccines (VIS Statement) that will be available at these school clinics.
Students will need to have a signed consent form at the time of vaccination or they will not be given the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine. Public Health is supplying these to the schools or you can download one from our website:

Note: At this time Public Health has completed vaccination clinics in all schools in District 2. If you missed a school clinic or require a second dose (children less than 10 years old), please visit one of our regular Wednesday clinics.
